This Privacy Policy explains how The Center for Unity, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Indiana, United States (“we,” “us”), handles information when you use AskJesus.

Information we collect

  • Questions and messages you submit to the chatbot.
  • Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Usage and analytics data (pages visited, device and browser information, and similar technical data), collected via Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.

We do not require an account and do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information. Please do not include personal or sensitive details in your questions.

How we use information

  • To generate chatbot responses.
  • To understand and improve the experience.
  • To send our newsletter, if you have opted in.
  • To maintain the security and reliability of the service.

Third-party services we use

  • OpenAI — processes the questions you submit, via the OpenAI API, to generate responses. Questions sent through the API are not used to train OpenAI’s models.
  • Airtable — stores questions and responses so we can review and improve quality.
  • Google (Tag Manager / Analytics) — website analytics.
  • Mailchimp — newsletter delivery, if you subscribe.
  • YouTube — embedded videos may set cookies subject to Google’s policies.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data retention

We retain chat logs indefinitely to study and improve the quality of responses. Analytics data is kept according to our analytics provider’s settings, and we keep newsletter email addresses until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email contact@thecenterforunity.org.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. We rely on their safeguards for such transfers.

Children

AskJesus is not directed to children under 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

We may update this Policy from time to time; the “last updated” date will reflect any changes.
